Poland's very first entry into the coveted supercar market will make its debut later this year.
Remember the Arrinera? It’s the Polish super car we reported on last year from Arrinera Automotive that looks alarmingly like a Lamborghini. Perhaps even a little too much. Well, we have good news — if you happen to be a fan — it’s getting a price tag and going into production. One of the key components to developing a successful supercar revolves around what kind of heat it’s packing under the hood. It’s really a no-brainer: if you’re going to drop a small fortune on a car it needs to be fast. Thankfully, the Arrinera will be powered by a 6.2-liter V8, capable of producing 641 horsepower and 605 lb-ft of torque. What’s more, it’ll be able to complete a mad dash to 62 miles per hour in just a hair over three seconds (3.2 if you really want to know). Top speed for the Arrinera is said to max out at 211 miles per hour, so yeah, it’s fast.
Of course what would a supercar be without an appropriately exciting interior? Inside, the Arrinera features sports seats, a three-spoke steering wheel and a leather-wrapped dashboard. Optional upgrades include carbon fiber trim, LED ambient lighting, and navigation system.
Production for the Arrinera – or whatever it will eventually be named – is scheduled for later this year, with pricing estimated in the region of $160,000.
The bodywork features a durable steel chassis with multilink independent suspension that was designed by the supercar guru, Lee Noble of Ultima, Ascari, and Rossion fame, to name but a few. And as we mentioned before, would be just as at home rolling out of a factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese as it would in Warsaw. We’re not going to go so far as to say the Arrinera is a rip-off, because it’s not. It has plenty of distinct features to set it apart, but the similarities are evident and you’d be forgiven for thinking so.
But Italian inspiration aside, we have to give props to the Polish outfit. It’s not easy breaking into the supercar scene, a number of companies from Spain (GTA Spano), Croatia (Rimac Concept One), and of course Poland’s own Arrinera are trying their luck, but the road to success will likely be long and bumpy. We suppose if you’re going to mimic someone, best to choose from one of the best, and the Raging Bull certainly ain’t a bad choice. Who knows? It might not be too long before we see Poland rank up there with the Italians, Germans, and Brits, as some of the finest sports car makers around.
Arrinera Automotive S.A. acquires 50% stake of a British car manufacturer
Fenix Automotive Ltd. that runs the Fenix sports car production project, is managed by Lee Noble – a world-famous British engineer and designer of supercars and sports cars. Noble is well-known for his participation in the making of Ultima – the mule used for developing McLaren F1, as well as for designing Noble M12, M14, M15, M400 and most recently M600.
Thanks to the investment, Arrinera Automotive S.A. made the next step in pursuing the company’s strategy of building a group of firms with dominating position in the world of supercars and sports cars. Arrinera Automotive S.A. plans to produce Arrinera and Fenix in Poland as well as to create a ‘fun car’ (single or double-seated vehicle with no roof and boot, priced at 70 000 GBP, 500 kg weight and 200 HP). According to the principles of the management board, the target production volume of all three vehicles can increase within a few years to a great extent of 600-700 cars per year.
Arrinera is the first supercar created in Poland in cooperation with a British engineer and designer – Lee Noble (acceleration 0-100 km/h - 3,3 s, top speed - 340 km/h, adventurous and eye catching design). Cars of that range are dedicated to a prestigious and elite group of customers. Companies making such cars have positive influence on the country’s image. Arrinera’s standard option price will be at around 100 000 GBP.
Arrinera’s prototype that was unveiled to shareholders and investors in June 2011 was built solely in Poland by notable Polish specialist who gained their experience and knowledge i.a. in a Center of Research and Development. It’s believed that this project will enable the Polish automotive sector to develop and Arrinera’s motherland – Poland – to tap into international markets. The project itself is frequently named as 'the national automotive project'.
In October 2011, Arrinera Automotive S.A. released two promotional videos as well as a professional photo session. The company is currently preparing itself to make its debut on Newconnect market.
The majority shareholder of Arrinera Automotive S.A. is VENO S.A. – a venture capital fund present on Newconnect market for 3 years.
