A report has surfaced that customers purchasing the upcoming Porsche 918 Spyder will have the opportunity to upgrade their model for an even more track focused version. The upgrades will include stripping out the interior for a weight saving of around 30 kg and it will also sport a naked exterior livery.
The base model will come with two electric motors paired with a 4.6 liter V8 engine and there are no suggestions that the track package would see any improvements. This means the model will continue to produce a combined output of 770 PS (566 kW / 759 hp).
The standard production model is set to achieve a 0-100kph (62mph) time of 3.0 seconds and we would expect a slight improvement on this with the minimal weight loss. The top speed however, will remain the same at 325 kph (202 mph).
Porsche expect around 20% of the 918 Spyder customers to take the upgraded package, although they must be ready for a premium price.
