5 Fast and Furious Fiat 500s

Good looks and good fuel economy will only get you so far with the American consumer; you still need some raw power and the ability to burn up the highway on occasion to truly win over buyers. The Abarth is all well and good, but it's nothing compared to all of these fast and furious 500s. If you want to see what a 500 looks and performs like after going under the tuning knife, then continue reading ahead.
Tuning firms Hamann and H&R came together to create the aggressive-looking 500 seen here. The two tuning houses pushed the car's 1.4-liter engine to 275hp through a combination of forged pistons, enhanced connection rods, new camshafts and a modified turbocharger. New sport brakes and a sporty body kit complete the extreme makeover.

The Fiat 500 Abarth Monza is an ultra-rare tune job built in-house. The Monza has been done up to the nines, with a new aerodynamic body kit, a luxurious interior and a supercharged engine emitting 260hp.The Monza was limited to just 10 individually numbered units.

CarTech gave the 500 Abarth Coppa a racing-inspired makeover, both under the hood and above it.Its tuned 500 features an enhanced intercooler, better air intakes, supersized turbochargers and a titanium steel exhaust system complete with Race mode, all good for 240hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. The new body kit is highlighted by an awesome wing, gigantic air splitter and vented hood.

German tuner G-Tech may have went slightly overboard with its 500 tune job. The company lowered the 500 by 14cm, shrunk its windows and added three different engine choices! The smallest engine (the 230CV) has 230 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque, with the middle child (the R) coming in at 260 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. G-Tech's biggest engine is designed for competition, and comes in at 350 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque.

Lazzarini Design is attempting to take on the Nissan Juke-R with its newest 500 tune job. The company plans to drop a watered-down version of the Ferrari 458 Italia's engine into a 500. Even in its weaker state, the 4.5-liter V8 will still be good for 550hp.Lazzarini Design is entirely serious about the project, and they're actively looking for investors willing to fund the project.
